General Information
Retreat Monferrato is a heartfelt project offering a calm space for relaxation, connection, and inspiration. Located in the beautiful Piedmont region of Italy, it serves as a welcoming haven where guests can exchange ideas and build meaningful relationships.
Designed and created by Roberto and Virna, the OPMD Retreat Centre provides a unique environment for healing and well-being, ensuring that everyone feels at home. This project is rooted in a desire to nurture personal growth and community, making it the perfect place for those seeking tranquility and peaceful moments.
We are eager to create an inclusive environment where everyone is welcomed with open arms. Retreat Monferrato embraces a holistic approach, cultivating a warm and peaceful atmosphere that encourages self-development.
Additionally, our retreat center features spacious facilities ideal for yoga, Pilates, dance, therapy, workshops, and a variety of artistic events. Guests have the opportunity to connect with nature, experience a reconnection with their senses, and escape the fast-paced world, allowing their minds to find new inspiration and clarity. It is a welcoming space where individuals gather to share valuable experiences and offer genuine support to one another.
Retreat Monferrato is located in the Piedmont region, within the province of Asti, at Via Panengo 1, 14026 Montiglio Monferrato, AT, Italy. The retreat is surrounded by exquisite Italian wineries and the captivating landscape of northern Italy.
Our transfer service
We offer transfer services for both arrival and departure, with the price of €120 per transfer for Turin Caselle airport / Turin Porta Nuova Trainstation and €150 for Milano Malpensa airport. Upon your arrival, the driver will be waiting for you with a sign displaying your name. Transfers are by mini bus for up to 8 people.By plane
To get to Retreat Monferrato by plane, the nearest airports are Turin and Milan. Turin Airport is approximately 50 minutes and Milan Airport is about 1 hour and 40 minutes away by car.By train
The closest train stations to Retreat Monferrato are Asti Trainstation and Torino Porta Nuova in Turin. The Asti train station is approximately 35 minutes from Retreat Monferrato by car, while Torino Porta Nuova is about one hour away.By car
For guests arriving at Retreat Monferrato by car, we provide an electric vehicle charging station, as well as a spacious parking area situated next to the property. You are welcome to park your car without any extra charges.
Our Villa Monasterro and our Yurt can accommodate together a maximum of 21 guests.

In order to secure your reservation our guests need to pay a first payment of 35% from the total sum and this deposit is non-refundable. However, if you’re unable to attend on the reserved date, we do allow you to transfer your booking to another available date. The final balance and payment for meals is due 3 weeks before arrival.
Our standard check-in time at Retreat Monferrato is at 4:00 PM, and check-out is at 11:00 AM.
To ensure a smooth arrival and departure experience for all our guests, we kindly ask that you inform us in advance if you plan to arrive or depart outside of our standard times. This allows us to accommodate your requests and make the necessary arrangements.

Villa Monastero:
- 3 double rooms with en-suite bathrooms
- 2 double rooms with a shared bathroom
- 1 single room with a shared bathroom
- 1 quadruple room with an en-suite bathroom
Yurt accommodates up to 6 guests with shared bathroom in the Retreat Centre.
Our rooms are equipped with air conditioning and heating depending on the time of the year and weather. Each room features a closet with hangers for your belongings. We provide two towels per guest and as well hairdryers to ensure comfort for our guests.
Guests can rent extra towels if needed for 10 euros each. Let us know, if you would like to rent extra ones during your stay.
All double rooms in the Villa Monastero have 2 single beds, which can be arranged as either a double or 2 singles.
We also have a baby cot for our small visitors, that can be placed additionally in the room.
All room doors inside Retreat Monferrato can be locked with a key, allowing you to enjoy more privacy during your stay.
No problem, if you forgot your shampoo and shower gel at home, we provide everything in our bathrooms for you.
Facilities
- Our Grande Salle
Once the monastery’s refectory, the Grande Salle exudes tranquility with its timeless architecture. The room
offers comfortable couches, a large table perfect for group dinners, and a kitchen area. You’ll also find a
coffee and tea station, as well as a wine fridge for relaxing moments. It’s the ideal space to gather, relax,
and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
- Our Retreat Centre
Our Studio on the second floor provides the perfect environment for relaxation and movement, enhanced by a
high-quality sound system and underfloor heating. The centre also offers a lounge area on the ground floor with
kitchen, dining area and music space with record player. There are bathroom and shower rooms on both floors, as well as a changing
area on the first.
- Do I need to bring my own yoga mat?
We provide mats, polsters, blankets, blocks, straps and eye pillows for you. Additionally you are more than
welcome to bring your own mat, if you prefer.
- Our Cinema
Our cozy cinema room invites you to enjoy films like in the old days. We screen timeless classics, offering a
peaceful escape from modern stress. Sit back, relax, and immerse yourself in the calm and nostalgia of cinema’s
golden era.
- Our Pool
The pool is ideal for refreshing swims during the summer months and can be heated up to 28/29 degrees upon request, though it is closed during the winter. Our pool is open for our guests every day from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, giving you plenty of time to enjoy a refreshing swim during your stay. You can find our pool towels inside of your wardrobe in the room. Please note that our pool is unsupervised, meaning guests swim at their own risk. While we strive to ensure
a safe environment, we kindly remind everyone to take necessary precautions while using the pool.
- Our Spa
A day pass to our spa is available for 100 euros per day, which includes full access to all the spa facilities.
This allows you to enjoy the complete spa experience at your leisure. Let us know if you’d like to book this
service during your stay!
We kindly remind our guests not to use the main kitchen in the Villa Monastero for hygienic reasons. However, you are welcome to utilize the kitchen and fridge in the Retreat Center.
- Can I drink the tap water?
The tap water at our retreat is perfectly safe and good to drink. In our effort to be more sustainable, we kindly encourage our guests to bring reusable bottles to fill up and use during events.
What if I have special dietary requirements?
Guests with allergies or special dietary requests will be charged a small fee of 10 euros/per day to accommodate their specific needs. This allows us to make necessary adaptations and ensure that everyone enjoys their meals comfortably.
- Can I bring my own chef?
We are happy to provide a chef for your event to help you with the organisation of your retreat. However, we also welcome chefs organized by your event, if you prefer to bring your own culinary team.
- Are there any wines to try?
In our kitchen, we have a wine fridge stocked with excellent wines for our guests to enjoy. And don’t worry—if you’d like to explore further, there are also some fantastic wineries nearby where you can taste even more local selections.
We kindly remind our guests to help us maintain a clean and pleasant environment by keeping the living and kitchen areas tidy. This includes placing cups, plates, and utensils in the dishwasher after use. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated in ensuring a comfortable stay for everyone!
We are pleased to offer free Wi-Fi for all our guests at Retreat Monferrato. The password will be provided upon your arrival.
There is no traditional reception at Retreat Monferrato, as we aim to create a more personalized and intimate experience for our guests. However, you can easily reach us via WhatsApp and email should you have any questions or require assistance during your stay. We are here to help!
We offer a laundry service for our guests, available for 20 euros. This service includes washing, drying, and folding your clothes. Typically, we return the clean items within 24 hours. We provide laundry bags for you, that you can simply fill with your clothes and hand to us. It’s a convenient option to ensure you have fresh clothes during your stay!
At our retreat, we do not permit smoking indoors; however, guests are welcome to smoke in designated outdoor areas, such as the terrace. We appreciate your understanding.
Activities and Recreation
During your stay, you can enjoy a variety of activities, including horse riding, e-bike tours, massages, cooking classes, wine tastings, and city tours. Our retreat is encircled by nature, offering relaxing views of the surrounded trees and fields. You’ll have the opportunity to connect with nature through various activities, as the area is perfect for walks, hikes and bike rides. Furthermore there is a farm nearby which also gives you the possibility to horse ride.
We hold a deep appreciation for animals; however, we must inform you that pets are not permitted at our retreat. This policy is implemented due to insurance regulations that prevent us from accommodating our furry friends. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Payments and Fees
We are pleased to offer our guests the convenience of accepting all major payment methods.
All taxes are already included in our prices, so you do not need to worry about additional fees.
We have a special offer at our retreat:
- If you bring 10 students, the teacher will receive free meals for the entire stay.
- If you bring 15 students, we extend this to offer two teachers free meals for the duration of their stay.
This offer is designed to support teachers and create a more enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
